General Manger will manage the restart and ultimate operation of a multi
site copper /cobalt operation (3 open pits, underground mine, associated
plants and infrastructure) producing up to 150,000 tpa of copper with
a work force consisting of over 2000 national employees and over 30 expatriates.
a close working relationship with the Project Manager and project development
team through the restart and four year development plan.
and lead an interdisciplinary team of professionals highly committed
to actively working together in the achievement of production goals.
Team will consist of mining, metallurgical, engineering, plant, finance,
commercial, and HSE and training services managers.
and maintain excellent relations with local community government and
a plan that will ensure budgeted production can be efficiently achieved.
and coordinate operations, maintenance, quality control and engineering
to achieve required tonnage and product grade specifications.
compliance with all applicable statutory requirements.
the expenditure of operating and capital budgets to ensure the efficient
and cost effective operation of the mining department.

20 years mining experience, with a minimum of 5 in a Senior Mine Management
experience of developing /operating copper mines in a third world environment
would be preferred
track record of meeting agreed performance targets
to manage and motivate a diverse expatriate and national team.
managing projects through feasibility, development cycle.
to communicate in the French language would be a definite asset.
